Babar Azam has praised the young pacers Shahnawaz Dahani and Naseem Shah to keep the team's hopes alive to prevail against India on 28 (August) in Dubai.

Pakistan set a target of 148 runs for the Indian team, on the back of Mohammad Rizwan's 43. Arriving at number 11, Dahani played a vital part to hit 16 off six balls, which helped the Men in Green to take the momentum in the second half.

Then, the 24-year-old kept the Indian batters in check, especially in the death overs to finish with 0/29 in four overs.

"The way Dahani stepped up today, both with the bat and ball, but we could not close the game today," said Babar.

Babar lauds debutant Naseem Shah

The 27-year-old thinks the debutant Naseem Shah displayed fighting spirit and confidence to keep India under the pump with his wicket-taking abilities.

Despite limping due to the cramp sustained during his delivery stride, Shah bowled his full quota of four overs and finished with figures of 2/27. In this pursuit, the 19-year-old clean-bowled KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav.

"It was a big match for Naseem Shah but still, he did very well. It was his confidence, the way he has shown his advance."

With no serious injury concerns, Shah is expected to feature for Pakistan's next fixture against Hong Kong on Friday (September 2).
