Arshdeep Becomes Highest Ranked Indian Bowler; Hardik Pandya Promoted In Latest T20I Ranking

On Wednesday, October 9, ICC updated their weekly ranking charts. Indian players were rewarded heavily after their stellar performance in the first T20I against Bangladesh. Notably, the Men in Blue registered a seven-wicket win against The Tigers in the series opener.
In the latest rankings, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya were rewarded the most as they were the star performers in the first match. Talking about Arshdeep, the left-arm seamer took three wickets and has jumped eight spots to become the highest-ranked Indian bowler in T20Is.
Notably, Singh is now placed joint 8th on the list. He surpassed Ravi Bishnoi, who dropped a spot, and now ranks 12th. He has a rating of 642, his career-best ranking in the shortest format of the match.
Hardik Pandya Closes Gap With Livingstone
Shedding light on Hardik Pandya, the star India all-rounder scored 39 (16) with the bat, which featured five fours and two sixes. Meanwhile, he also contributed with the ball and took a solitary wicket.
As a result, Hardik has climbed up in the all-rounders ranking. He jumped four spots and now sits in the 3rd position only behind Dipendra Singh and Liam Livingstone. Hardik's T20I all-rounder's rating is 216 and is eyeing his career-best rating of 266 against West Indies in 2023. Further, Pandya also rose in the batter's list and is now placed 60 on the rankings.
ICC T20I Rankings: Other Notable Changes
Besides the Indian players, USA's Andries Gous jumped a whopping 30 spots in the batter's list and is now ranked 26th on the list. He scored 153 runs in four innings against Namibia and UAE in the recently concluded tri-series, averaging 38.25.
