Alex Hales named as Notts Player of the month

The top-order batter Alex Hales has been named as John Pye Auctions Player of the June Month by Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.

The 33-year-old was rewarded with this prestigious award due to his contribution of 302 runs in nine T20 appearances, comprising three fifties in the past month.

Hales’s top score of 91 from 33 balls came against Derbyshire in a winning cause. His another crucial knock off 44 off 16 helped Notts to win the game against Leicestershire.

In a rain-affected encounter against Warwickshire, Hales hit 30 off nine deliveries.

The experienced T20 player returned with back-to-back knocks of 55 each against Foxes and Falcons.

Tom Fishwick of John Pye Auctions presented this award to Hales, with the attendance of Marcellus Baz from Switch-Up Nottingham.

In 13 matches of T20 Blast 2022, the Middlesex-born cricketer has garnered 360 runs at a strike rate of 192.51.

Interestingly, Hales was the first English cricketer to hit a T20 century, when he hit 116 against Sri Lanka in 2014.

Nottinghamshire have six wins in 13 league matches of the tournament. They will have to win their last fixture against Worcestershire with a significant margin to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
