Aaron Beard extends his contract with Essex County Club

The talented right-arm fast bowler Aaron Beard has agreed to extend his contract for another two years with Essex, which will keep him available until the 2024 season for the Club.

Beard made his debut for Essex in a Tour Match of Sri Lanka in May 2016 and gained the limelight by finishing with figures of 4/62 in the first innings.

The Chelmsford-born pacer made his T20 and List A debut in the 2019 domestic season. So far, Beard has featured in 42 matches for Essex across all the formats and has picked up 80 wickets.

In the 2022 edition of Vitality Blast, Beard has eight wickets in four appearances at an economy of 6.69.

Beard hopes to continue the same form and help Essex to win the coveted trophies in the next two domestic seasons. Furthermore, the 24-year-old feels that the 2022 edition has been the best ever in his career.

“I’m really pleased to be staying at Essex for another two years, and I hope I can repay the faith that’s been shown in me.

“It’s been a bit of a stop-start two years, but I’m feeling better than ever, and I hope that’s shown with my performances in the last few months.

“Hopefully, I can push on and carry on contributing to more victories, and we can look to add some more trophies to the cabinet at Chelmsford.”

Beard will feature for Essex in their quarter-final clash against Lancashire on July 8. In the last game, he finished with figures of 2/16 in three overs.
