Aakash Chopra backs England to win the 2nd ODI against India

India completely dominated the first One Day International against England and secured a victory by ten wickets. The bowlers scripted the win for the visitors as the Englishmen were restricted to just 110 runs in the first innings.

Four England batters, including Jason Roy, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Liam Livingstone, were sent back to the pavilion for ducks. The seam duo of Jaspirt Bumrah and Mohammed Shami tore through the hosts' batting unit in the first match as they shared nine wickets between them.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra expects a similar performance from the India pacers in the second One Day International at Lord's. Chopra believes that the slope will help Bumrah and Shami excel on July 14, Thursday.

"Bumrah and Shami will together take more than four wickets again. Bumrah is doing the magic, he picked up six wickets in the last match. The slope will make him even more dangerous, that's what I feel," the renowned commentator said in a video shared on his Youtube Channel.

Aakash Chopra is expecting a fine knock from Joe Root and Ben Stokes in the 2nd ODI

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old has backed Root and Stokes to return to the form in the second One Day International. Chopra believes that a relatively flatter pitch will help the England batters put up a decent total on the scoreboard.

Skipper Jos Buttler was the top run-getter for England in the last game with a knock of 30 runs. Both Root and Stokes scored a duck while Jonny Bairstow returned to the stands after a knock of seven runs.

"Although there were ducks against Joe Root and Ben Stokes' names in the last match, but I feel here Joe Root, Buttler and Bairstow will together score more than 125 runs. You will say that the entire team had together scored 110 last time but I feel it will not happen like that, a slighter flatter pitch will be given," Chopra added.

There is no doubt that India will have momentum on their side on Thursday. However, the commentator has labelled the hosts as the favourites to win the game and level the series.

This is England's final chance to salvage some pride, having already lost the three-match T20I series by 1-2.

"Last but not least, what you all have been waiting for, and you told me many times to do that, I said let me do that - England to win, series 1-1, but you know what that means," the 44-year-old concluded.
