After back-to-back losses in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be eager to get back to winning ways when they take on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday.

LSG's journey in IPL 2024

The Super Giants were on a roll after winning three on a trot, but the last two losses against DC and KKR have hurt their chances for a play-off berth. The KL Rahul led side will hope to collect two crucial points when they meet a resurgent CSK team at the Ekana Stadium.

From constant injuries to poor batting, LSG have plenty to ponder ahead of their next IPL clash. The team is highly dependent on Nicholas Pooran to deliver, and when he fails, the entire team crumbles under pressure. Marcus Stoinis' form is also a cause of worry for the Lucknow based team.

He has scored 122 runs in 6 matches, and has only managed to pick up a solitary wicket in the IPL 2024. The Aussie all-rounder does need a break, and his fellow Aussie teammate, Ashton Turner could come into the playing XI.

The Perth Scorchers captain has been in fine form in the domestic circuit and can be a useful option if LSG are to take a bold call.

Another change which the team could make is bringing in Matt Henry in place of Shamar Joseph. The highly talented Joseph went for plenty in the last match against KKR, and looks low in confidence. However, knowing the LSG side, they give a longer rope to their players, and Joseph is likely to play the next match against CSK.
