Match 25 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will witness Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lock horns with Mumbai India at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium this evening. Both teams are coming off after gaining comprehensive wins over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), respectively, making this encounter mouth-watering.

While MI holds a slight edge over SRH in terms of total wins (10/19), the hosts boast an impressive home record over the visitors (4/7).

Let's have a look into some of the key battles that could determine the outcome of today's encounter.

Marco Jansen vs Rohit Sharma

Marco Jansen will go up for the first time against his former side Mumbai Indians, where he gained fame. Jansen has claimed four wickets in two matches for SRH and will look to get the better of Rohit Sharma.

Sharma's woes against left-arm pacers are well known, however, in the past two outings the MI captain has looked to dominate bowlers.

Harry Brook vs Piyush Chawla

England's new sensation Harry Brook will look to continue his rich form, however, will be up against wily Piyush Chawla, who has been Mumbai's most economical bowler so far.

Brook's indecisiveness against spin, will surely be explored by Chawla, who claimed almost 27 percent of his IPL wickets as bowled.

Umran Malik vs Tilak Varma

Speedster Umran Malik is yet to hit the mark this season, however, his pace remains an ace in the hole for SRH. At Hyderabad, Mailk has claimed three wickets at an impressive average,

Hyderabad's local boy Tilak Verma will turn up for the Indians and would love to continue his run-scoring spree.  Malik got the better of Verma last year, where the latter faced four balls and scored zero runs.

Mayank Markande vs Tim David

Leading the bowling charts for SRH, Markande will look to perform at this peak against his former franchise. David, who has been in hard-hitting form lately in his only match versus SRH, struck an 18-ball 46 last year.

But Markande, could exploit David's weakness against leg-spinners as seen against RCB's Karn Sharma.

Rahul Tripathi vs Jason Behrendorff

Rahul Tripathi's explosive batting is a thorn in any opposition's success plan against SRH. In IPL2023, Tripathi has already shown his class, slamming 117 runs.

Mumbai will bank on their best pacer, Jason Behrendorff, to diminish Tripathi's onslaught. Tripathi against MI averages 27.50m and has scored two fifties.
