ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is on the way and the tournament has picked up its pace with its Super 12 stage. We have seen some dramatic matches and also some unexpected upsets.
The players have been giving their best to take their teams through in crunch matches. Speaking of the leaders of the team, the captains are not having the best of times in the tournament.
Yes, some of the leaders have been leading their team magnificently but as far as personal performances are considered none of them are having a good time.

As we see in this World Cup has seen average performances from the team leaders. Rohit Sharma has scored a half century in the tournament but that came against Netherlands in a match where other batters also played well. We can say that the impact of those runs in India's win was not that significant given the opposition and the pressure on the team.
The impactful knock from a skipper has come from Andrew Balbirnie. He scored 62 runs off 47 balls against England, which was a major contribution in Ireland's win against one of the favourites in the the tournament.
Apart from these two skippers, the tournament has seen some average performances from the other captains. The leading from the front kind of attitude has been missing from the leaders.
Especially, Babar Azam is having a torrid time in the tournament. Both as a captain and as a batter, the tournament has been a nightmare for him till now. He has just scored 4 runs in the tournament and his team have lost the opening two matches against India and Zimbabwe.
