In an ongoing clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024, RCB's struggles persisted as SRH posted a monumental total at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, RCB's decision failed to yield results as SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head wreaked havoc on the RCB bowling attack.

Sharma and Head constructed a blistering 100+ partnership in just 43 balls, matching the joint-fastest for SRH in IPL history. Despite RCB managing to break the partnership with Sharma's dismissal at 108 in 8.1 overs, Head continued his onslaught.

He powered his way to a breathtaking century, scoring 102 runs off just 41 balls, featuring an astonishing 9 fours and 8 sixes. This remarkable feat earned him the title of the fastest century by any SRH player in IPL history and the fourth fastest overall.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan expressed his dismay over RCB's bowling performance, succinctly stating, "Rubbish bowling to be honest." SRH capitalized on RCB's bowling woes, amassing a colossal total of 287/3 in their allotted 20 overs, marking the highest total ever recorded in IPL history.

Aiden Markram and Abdul Samad contributed significantly, adding firepower towards the end of the innings with a formidable partnership.

SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen notched up a brisk fifty off just 23 balls, and his aggressive innings came to an end after scoring 67 runs off 31 balls, inclusive of 7 sixes.

With only one win from six matches, RCB finds themselves languishing at the bottom of the points table, while SRH boasts three wins from five matches.
