Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head tonked a 39-ball century against RCB at the latter’s home ground in match number 30 of the IPL 2024 season. The Australian-based cricketer pounded 102 runs in all from 41 deliveries before he was holed out by RCB skipper Faf du Plessis at mid-off.

Head’s whirlwind knock marked the fastest-ever century in the history of the SRH franchise, and set up foundation of IPL’s highest total to date.

Travis Head slapped a turbulent 41-ball 102 against RCB at the latter’s home ground on April 15. Shortly after his dismissal to Lockie Ferguson in the 13th over of the SRH innings, a legion of fans took to X (formerly Twitter) and expressed their reactions over his hurricane knock.

Travis Head’s 102-run effort set up base of a monumental SRH total, with the ‘Orange Army’ concluding their innings at 287-3. Notably, they shattered their own month-long record (277-3) of the highest-ever team total in IPL history.

Apart from Head, South African-based number three Heinrich Klaasen scored 67 from 31 balls while Aiden Markram (17-ball 32*) and Abdul Samad (10-ball 37*) also slapped valiant contributions at the death.
