'Not Our Best Bowling Performance' - Pant Makes A Shocking Remark After GT's 89 All-Out

Delhi Capitals (DC) registered their fastest run-chase on Wednesday night against Gujarat Titans (GT) as they chased down 90 in 8.5 overs and 6 wickets in their hand. One of the major catalysts of the win was their captain, Rishabh Pant whose proactive captaincy and fantastic wicketkeeping played a huge role in the win.

Pant was adjudged as Player of The Man for his two lightning-quick stumpings off Tristian Stubbs to dismiss Abhinav Manohar and Shahrukh Khan. He also took a blinder behind the stumps on Ishant Sharma's bowling to get rid of dangerous David Miller. The last dismissal that he contributed to was a straightforward catch of GT's highest run-scorer, Rashid Khan.

Apart from his prowess with the wicketkeeping gloves, he also finished the game unbeaten at 16 with the bat.

In his post-match interview, Pant expressed his with how DC went about things with a champion mentality to get the important two points.

"Lot of things to be pleased about, we talked about [the] champion thought process with each and every player and today our team showed that we can play in that fashion. Really happy to see that," said Pant.

On putting Gujarat to bat in first and backing the decision at the toss with such an outstanding piece of bowling, Rishabh tried to refrain from saying that this was their best bowling performance this season with the hope of doing better in the coming games.

"Definitely one of the best so far. It is early in the tournament, so, can't say [it's the best] because we can improve every day on an individual level." 

About his all round performance behind and in front of the stumps, Pant stressed on just focusing on coming better than before and how good he is feeling to be back.

"The only thought process before coming on to the field was coming in a better way, that's the only thought when I was going through my rehab."

Pant also ended up mentioning DC's love-story with this new ground of Ahmedabad as they have the best win rate on this ground amongst all the teams in IPL and enjoying one game at a time.
