Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli played excellent innings and scored a 44-ball 70 against Gujarat Titans in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 28, 2024.

After the match, Virat Kohli slammed and responded to the questions regarding his slow strike rate when asked about his approach towards the game. Will Jacks smashed an explosive century scoring (100* off 41 balls) along with the support of Virat Kohli sealing a nine-wicket win in the Narendra Modi Stadium.

After playing the match-winning partnership with centurion Will Jacks, the Indian stalwart Virat Kohli opted to shut down the critics and people raising questions regarding his slow batting strike rate.

The 35-year-old cricketer has been in some commendable form this season and is the current Orange Cap holder smashing 500 runs in 10 matches.

Virat Kohli Is A Big-Match Player: Irfan Pathan

Former fast bowler, Irfan Pathan, while talking to Star Sports, said that there should be no questions regarding the slow strike rate of a 'big match player' like Virat Kohli.

The former bowler said, that it doesn't matter the strike rate at which Virat Kohli is playing as far as he is looking to get the win for his side and play according to the demand of the situation.

"I don't understand where all the talks of strike rate comes in. It actually disappoints me. I've been actually talking about it from day one. Don't question that because he's a big-match player. He always wins you games. And today look what he did. Look, it was a slow start. He played down the ground really well. He played the slog sweep really well as well. He doesn't play that much, but he played all around today, and that is why he's able to get that success," Pathan told Star Sports.

The former Indian all-rounder also acknowledged Kohli's knock against Gujarat Titans and also supported his strong response regarding people raising questions about his slow strike rate.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play its next fixture against Gujarat Titans on May 4, 2024.
