In a shocking news coming from Mumbai Indians' IPL 2024 clash against Lucknow Super Giants, MI skipper Hardik Pandya confirmed that there won't be Tilak Varma in action for the five-time champions in their final league match at Wankhede Stadium.
Tilak, the promising youngster from MI is out injured after having a niggle, and hence, he was unavailable for selections ahead of the final fixture of the competition.
In Tilak's absence, Mumbai have brought in Dewald Brevis, who was out of action for some time before getting the recall.
"Couple of changes, Jassi (Bumrah) is not there so Arjun plays. Tilak has an injury so he misses out and Brevis comes in. Tim (David) misses out and someone comes in," Hardik Pandya confirmed the news after winning the toss and opted to bowl first.
Notably, there was an argument between Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma earlier, which left many in disbelief, given that the star all-rounder has been the talk of the town ever since taking over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma.
With only four wins and nine defeats, Mumbai are placed bottom of the points table.
