Ace Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan committed a fielding error this evening, as his drop catch gave explosive Australian batter Marcus Stoinis a lifeline in Gujarat Titans' ongoing IPL 2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. 

The incident occurred during the 14th over of LSG's innings when GT skipper Shubman Gill decided to complete the quota of Noor Ahmad. 

After keeping it tight in his first two deliveries, Noor tossed the ball up in the air, inviting LSG's Marcus Stoinis for a lofted shot. 

The veteran Aussie all-rounder fell in the trap, as he hit it straight in the air. His miscued shot created an opportunity for the Titans, with Rashid Khan getting ready to take the catch. 

However, the Afghan spin maestro misjudged the trajectory of the ball and fumbled to grab a running catch. After dropping the catch, Rashid looked devastated as he was aware of the consequences of his unimpressive effort. 

Meanwhile, the Titans' captain Shubman Gill came running towards him and consoled the experienced campaigner. Gill's sweet gesture showed how good a team-man he is, earning him massive applause for standing by his troops. 

Nevertheless, Rashid's dropped catch didn't cost GT much, as Darshan Nalkande got rid of Stoinis after the latter completed his fifty. 

As of writing, the Super Giants were 121 for four in 15.5 overs, with Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni unbeaten in the middle.
