It appears that Yuzvendra Chahal might once again miss out on a spot in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, according to the reports coming out. 

The spinner selection for the T20 World Cup squad has sparked discussions, and it seems Chahal is not being considered as of now. 

Yuzvendra Chahal is India's highest wicket-taker in T20 internationals with 96 wickets and recently he achieved another milestone by becoming the first bowler in IPL history to claim 200 wickets during the match against Mumbai Indians. 

Chahal has been in excellent form during the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) with 13 wickets in just 6 games for Rajasthan Royals.

Given his outstanding performances, most people expected Chahal's inclusion in the final squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. 

However, as the announcement day draws nearer, latest report by Cricbuzz suggest that Chahal's name might not feature in the squad. 

Selection board are considering options like Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi  as potential picks for the Indian squad.


Possible reason for Chahal's exclusion

The primary reason behind Chahal's potential exclusion could be concerns over his fielding abilities. In modern cricket, fielding skills plays a significant role, especially in the T20 format where every run matters.

Despite being a consistent performer, Yuzvendra Chahal has never featured in any of the T20 World Cup match so far. This World Cup was widely seen as his final realistic opportunity to play in the pinnacle event.
