Delhi Capitals(DC) led by Rishabh Pant have had a disappointing start to the Indian Premier League( IPL 2024) facing defeat in four matches out of five. In the 20th match of the cash-rich league Delhi Capitals lost the fixture against Mumbai Indians by 29 runs at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

Delhi Capitals’ star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was injured ahead of the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians clash. In this season 2024 Marsh has played four matches for the franchise but failed to perform significantly.

Mitchell Marsh's IPL In Doubt

Mitchell Marsh has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and Delhi Capitals assistant coach Pravin Amre calls it a "worrying sign" for the team.

“A few of our players are injured, and the worrying sign is Marsh. He has gone for a scan and the physios will give us a report in a week’s time. Then we will come to know what the exact situation is. Whether he can (play the rest of the season) or not depends on the report.”DC assistant coach Pravin Amre said.

He also added that the Australian all-rounder could potentially miss at least one week of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). In IPL Marsh has been in and out and played only 42 matches in eight seasons. The 32-year-old has a long history of injury concerns in IPL.

In IPL 2020 representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), he was ruled out of the tournament after injuring his ankle in the first match. And in the 2021 edition, Marsh opted himself out of the tournament because of bubble fatigue. In the 2022 edition, his involvement in the league was uncertain playing for Delhi Capitals and only managed to play eight games.

Along with DC, the Australian team and management will also be concerned about the injury and Marsh is expected to captain the Australian side in the T20 World Cup in June.

Injury Concerns Of Certain DC Players Are Making Things Worse For The Franchise

Kuldeep Yadav the star bowler for Delhi Capitals was earlier sidelined in IPL 2024 due to groin niggle and the bowler has missed already three consecutive games in a row. Kuldeep is expected to miss "one or two games" more and then can hopefully make a comeback.

Mukesh Kumar was sidelined due to a hamstring strain in the match against Chennai Super Kings and is expected to make a comeback in the next match that Delhi Capitals will play against Lucknow Super Giants on April 12.
