In a significant development, experienced South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has joined Deccan Gladiators for the Abu Dhabi T10 2022 starting next week. The Gladiators took to their Twitter handle to announce the arrival of the wily spinner in their colours for the lucrative league.

After debuting in 2017, Shamsi gradually established himself as a vital cog in the Proteas' T20I setup. The left-arm wrist spinner has scalped 73 wickets in 59 T20I appearances and has a plethora of experience in the shortest format. He has been absolutely phenomenal in T20Is since 2021, claiming 52 wickets in 34 matches at a surreal economy of 6.74.

However, the 32-year-old recently slammed the team management for not backing him in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, where he recorded a match-winning spell of three for 20 against Bangladesh in Sydney.

Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi T10 league commences on November 23. Deccan Gladiators will take on Team Abu Dhabi on the opening day at the iconic Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
