'He always delivers': Bhuvneshwar Kumar backed to shine in the T20 World Cup 2022

Former Indian batter Suresh Raina has backed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to do well for India in the T20 World Cup 2022.

The Indian pacer has been under fire for his recent performances, especially in the Asia Cup 2022. Being one of the senior bowlers in the side, Bhuvneshwar was expected to come up trumps in the crunch moments against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

However, he ended up conceding valuable runs in the death overs that helped the opposition get over the line eventually.

The Indian pacer will now be leading his country's bowling attack in the World Cup and all eyes will be on him as he looks to make amends.

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar will be India's go-to man and Raina believes that the 32-year-old has what it takes to step up and deliver.

Meanwhile, the likes of Mohammed Shami and Axar Patel have been drafted in as replacements for the injured Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja.

Raina claims that the Australian pitches will aid Bhuvneshwar much more than the drab surfaces in the Asia Cup.

“Bhuvi is an experienced bowler. He has done really well. Sometimes you go for runs, but he still has that swing. He is still the go-to guy for the skipper because he always delivers when it mattered the most. When Virat scored a hundred, he also took five wickets against Afghanistan and bowled really well. He has that knuckleball, swing and he hits areas well

Once you get that line and length, he knows how to execute those plans and he will do really well there because Australian conditions will give his knuckleball and variations help. Alongside Arshdeep and Harshal, Bhuvi will help them with his extra experience and will do really well for India," said Raina to News18.
