The three matches of the County Championship Division Two came to their final conclusion on Thursday (15 September). Here's a brief overview of the matches being played at Hove, Lord's and Leicester. 


Sussex vs Worcestershire

Sussex began Day 4 on 39/1 at Hove. Soon, Bradley Currie made his way back to the hut. Then, Ali Orr (48) and Tom Alsop added a 38-run stand to stabilize the team. The dismissal of Orr could not curtail Alsop's momentum as he was clinical to register his eight first-class century, and fourth of this season. 


In the middle order, Tom Clark (36) and keeper Oliver Carter (55) were good support. In the end, Alsop hit 137* off 228, while Coles remained unbeaten on 8* to see Sussex finishing the game proceedings on 312/6, and the match getting drawn.

Middlesex vs Glamorgan

Leading by 15 runs, Glamorgan commenced Day 4 on 190/8 at Lord's. They could add 30 more, as they were bundled for 220.  The experienced Toby Roland-Jones was the wrecker-in-chief for Middlesex with five scalps. 


The seasoned campaigners Mark Stoneman (20*) and Sam Robson (25*) completed the chase of 45 under six overs for Middlesex. 

With this victory, the Tim Murtagh-led side are now at second position in the table with five wins in 12 league matches.

Leicestershire vs Durham

Durham were at 51/2 at the start of the final day, and were 34 runs short of a victory. The in-form batter Michael Jones was flawless to hit 50 off 58, before being cleaned up by Chris Wright. 

In the end, Nic Maddinson (31*) and David Bedingham (19*) remained unbeaten to help Durham prevail over Leicestershire by seven wickets. 

This was the only second victory for the Scott Borthwick-led side in 12 matches of this season.
