Riding on bowlers exceptional opening burst, hosts Chennai Super Kings ran through RCB's top order in the ongoing IPL 2024 opener at MA Chidambaram Stadium. However, ex-captain Virat Kohli brought some respite to the RCB camp, as he played some delightful shots to steady the ship. 

During his knock, Kohli switched gears to smack a glorious first six off ace CSK spinner Maheesh Theekshana, thus recording the first-ever maximum of the season. 

The incident occurred in the tenth over when Theekshana came to bowl the third over of his spell. Kohli welcomed him with a couple before hitting him for a flat six over the deep mid wicket stand. 

After bowling a full length delivery, Theekshana dropped it tad short, luring Kohli for an aggressive shot. The legendary batter obliged to it, as he rocked back and dispatched the ball into the deep mid wicket stand. 

However, just when he seemed to get going, Kohli was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahma, who had already gotten rid of Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar. Soon after removing Kohli, the Bangladesh speedster castled Cameron Green with a ripper. 

As a result of his exceptional bowling, RCB are tottering at 78 for five in 11.4 overs, with Anuj Rawat unbeaten at one end.
