After getting plenty of flack for his lacklustre performance in the T20I series, Arshdeep Singh has bounced back in style in the first ODI against South Africa at the Johannesburg.

South Africa opted to bat first after winning the toss, but immediately regretted the decision as Arshdeep ran riot with the new ball in hand. He knocked over Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen for ducks, and was all over the Proteas batting lineup.

However, as seen in the past, the South Africans boasts a strong middle-order, led by Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram. However, the dangerous Klaasen was no match against a fired up Indian left-arm seamer, as he was knocked over by a brilliant in-swinging delivery.

The ball pitched on the middle stump and came back in sharply to shatter the stumps of Klaasen, who had no clue about the delivery. Arshdeep's spell gave confidence to Avesh Khan as well, who came in the next over and got the prized wicket of Markram, who was dismissed for 12 off 21.

At the moment, South Africa are reeling at 55 for 6, with more than half the side back in the pavilion. India will be looking to wrap things up quickly.
