Amid the drama of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where loyalties shift as swiftly as the shadow of a soaring ball, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) veteran, Virat Kohli is a perfect example of absolute loyalty and timeless brilliance.

March 11th marks a momentous milestone for Kohli, as he celebrates 16 years with RCB, a tenure that has seen him evolve from a promising youngster to a veritable legend of the game.

Kohli’s cricketing journey with RCB commenced in the inaugural IPL season of 2008, shortly after captaining India to glory in the U-19 World Cup.

The batting maestro stands as the only figure to have weathered every storm and basked in every victory with a single franchise across all 16 editions of the tournament.

The Virat Kohli RCB association began when the batter, a fledgling talent brimming with promise, was chosen by the Bengaluru outfit on the second day of the league's first player auction, an investment that would yield unparalleled dividends.

On this special anniversary, RCB took to Twitter to pay a glowing tribute to their talismanic batter. They celebrated  Virat Kohli's journey with a montage of his memorable moments in the RCB jersey, set to the rhythm of the hit song "Sulthana" from the blockbuster film KGF Chapter 2.

The closest they came was in 2016, a year that saw Kohli in sublime form, scoring 973 runs in 16 matches, a record that still stands as the gold standard for individual brilliance in a single IPL season.

With 7263 runs from 237 matches, Kohli is not just RCB's but the IPL's leading run-scorer. As he steps into his 17th year with RCB, the stage is set for Kohli to continue his quest for that elusive title, with the IPL 2024 season on the horizon.

Fresh from paternity leave and delighted by the arrival of his son Akaay, Kohli is ready to return to the field, chasing glory for the team that has been his home since the dawn of the IPL.
