Tushar Deshpande, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler revealed an interesting conversation which took place between MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja during the IPL clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jadeja played a prank with the Chepauk crowd, when he walked out to bat ahead of MS Dhoni, much to the displeasure of the crowd. However, he instantly turned back to the dugout and the camera focuses on MS Dhoni, who came out to bat to a roaring reception.

MSD's secret prank

Deshpande later revealed that it was a plan devised by MS Dhoni to play a short prank with the Chennai crowd.


“He told Jaddu bhai ‘You go out, but I will go out to bat’. I heard that,” Deshpande said in a video posted by IPL's official website.

After CSK won the match against a lacklustre KKR, Jadeja revealed that the people in the stadium were waiting to watch MS Dhoni bat.

“Wo sirf apna ek jhalak dikhaya to unke lie ticket ka paisa vassool ho jaega (If the crowd gets a glimpse of Dhoni, they will get their money’s worth),” Jadeja stated.

Talking about the match, CSK restricted the high-flying KKR to a modest 137/9. On a sluggish track, Jadeja picked up 3 wickets, as the visitors found it hard to get going. The Super Kings made a mockery of the target and chased it down with ease.
