Bio
A destructive top-order batsman, Evin Lewis has become a popular name in the cricketing fraternity playing for the Men in Maroon. Idolising Chris Gayle, he was mentored by none other than the Jamaican legend himself, who guided him to improve his batting. Born and raised in Trinidad, Lewis was part of the U-19 Championship winning Trinidad and Tobago side, a side he has represented since 2012.
After his scorching performance at the domestic level in West Indies, Evin was bought by Barisal Bulls to play in Bangladesh Premier League. Lewis proved his worth in the tournament and scored a blazing century in a match against the Dhaka Dynamites smashing 101 unbeaten runs off just 65 balls.
A phenomenal T20 batsman, he was included in the national side for the first time after his exploits in the BPL. He made his debut against Afghanistan on March 27, 2016 in a T20I match in which he failed to open his account.
The southpaw scored his maiden T20I century in only his 3rd ever T20I. He destroyed the Indian bowling line-up, sparing nobody and reserving special punishment for Stuart Binny, scoring 5 sixes in an over against the bowler.
An established white-ball cricketer, Lewis is worldwide known for the aggressive brand of cricket he plays and there is no doubt that he has a special limited-overs career ahead of him, whether that is for the West Indies or domestic T20 teams around the world.
