Bio
An aggressive left-handed middle-order batter, Mark Deyal plays for Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indian domestic competitions.
Known for his ability to churn out runs quickly, Deyal made his first-class debut for T&T in the 2014-15 Regional Four Day tournament. Ahead of the 2015 Caribbean Premier League, Deyal signed up with Red Steel Franchise and made his debut against the Jamaica Tallawahs.
He struggled initially in the white-ball game, but he eventually picked up the pace and started to accumulate runs at a brisk rate.
The period from 2018-20 was perhaps the worst period of his life. Deyal struggled to keep up with the rest of the squad and failed to register the numbers which were expected of him.
Eventually, in 2020, he switched his teams and joined hands with St Lucia Zouks ahead of the Caribbean Premier League.
Deyal’s inability to channelise his inner talent has perhaps led to his downfall. A talented player in every sense, Deyal has so far failed to capitalise on the number of chances given to him.
