The player, believed to be the next star of Indian cricket had to face great struggle to make his pace in the team. At the age of 16, he started his First Class career for Hyderabad and by the following year he was playing for India-A. He became the youngest player in the history of Ranji Trophy to score a double century and a century in the same match.
Rayudu led India U-19 team to 2004 ICC cricket World Cup where India finished as semifinalists. Unable to break into the senior team consistently, Rayudu retired before the 2019 ICC World Cup.
In early 2010, he was signed up by Mumbai Indians for IPL where his performance was impressive and hence he was retained by MI for the coming seasons as well. With his consistent performance in the match, he plays a great role for his team. But he was grabbed by CSK in 2018 as he would strengthen the middle order of the team. He scored 602 during the 2018 IPL season with the highest knock of 100*.
