Bio
Maddy Green made her debut in 2012, but she’ll always be remembered for her sublime ton against Ireland in 2018, where she slammed 121 of 77 balls.
Born in Auckland, the right-handed middle-order batswoman made her T20I debut in 2012 against Australia, and in a low-scoring encounter scored a crucial 18-ball 14 to take her side past the winning line.
A powerful hitter of the ball, Green had to wait two more years to make her ODI debut against West Indies.
But it wasn’t until 2018 that Green made her mark in the ODI format. In an ODI match against Ireland, Green slammed a 62-ball century in New Zealand’s record total of 490 for the loss of 4 wickets. This was the very first time Green had made a score in excess of 50 plus, as she went on to smash 121 of a mere 77 deliveries in a record 346-run win.
A career that has spanned for more than 9 years now, Green has not fulfilled her potential as of yet. She has shown glimpses of what she can do, but consistency has always been her key issue.
