Mumbai and India batsman Prithvi Shaw has been in sublime form in the on-going Vijay Hazare Trophy. The right-handed batsman has already scored four tons in the tournament including a double-century till the semi-final of the tournament. Karnataka met Mumbai in the semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.

Shaw accumulated 754 runs in 7 innings and became the highest run-getter in the history of the tournament surpassing Mayank Agarwal’s record of 723 runs that he smashed in the 2018 edition in 8 matches. Agarwal is followed by Karnataka’s Devdutt Padikkal who acquires both number three and four slots in this list respectively. Padikkal notched up 673 runs in 7 matches.

The left-handed opening batsman was also among runs in the 2019-20 season where he ad a total tally of 609 runs in 11 matches. Dinesh Karthik struck 607 runs in 9 matches for Tamil Nadu in 2016-17 season.

Shaw had a dismal tour of Australia where he just managed 4 runs in two Test innings and was later dropped from the squad for the four-match Test series against England. But the 21-year-old showed exceptional stroke-play in the domestic 50-over tournament.

He began the Vijay Hazare tournament with an unbeaten ton against Delhi in Jaipur and followed it with scores of 34, 227*, 36, 2, 185* and 165 in 7 appearances for Mumbai.
