Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) stalwart AB de Villiers has said that he is looking forward to meeting Australian Joshua Philippe as he identifies his younger self in the Sydney Sixers batsman.
“I am looking forward to connecting with Josh; I see a lot of similarities between the ways he plays when I was younger. I am excited about Josh, I watched him play for the Sydney Sixers, he takes the new ball on, he is a very talented player, I have heard Gilchrist say really good things about him,” de Villiers said in a video posted by RCB on their official Twitter handle.
The South African was also keen to welcome the other three foreign stars in Aaron Finch, Mooen Ali and Adam Zampa from Australia and England. They will be joining the Bangalore set up in Dubai after finishing their limited overs series in Old Trafford Manchester on Wednesday, 16th September.
“We are going to have some world-beaters in this edition; we will have Finch, Moeen Ali, Adam Zampa and Josh Philippe. The four guys joining us will add to what we have created here and that is a very special team environment,” Mr. 360 degrees said.
The Challengers will start their IPL 2020 campaign against cross Deccan rivals Sunrisers Hyderabad on 21st September.
