One of the two on-field umpires officiating the second Test match in Pakistan's tour of England, Richard Kettleborough, was spoken to by the Anti Corruption Unit officials of the International Cricket Council, ESPNcricinfo reported. The incident that prompted the interference of the ACU was apparently a mistake that the umpire committed during the game where he wore his smartwatch to the field.

According to guidelines, the players and umpires hand over any transmitting device (mobile phones, smart watches etc) on them to the ACU before the game.

Cricinfo reported that the incident took place in the first session of day 2 after the umpire walked out on the field wearing his smartwatch. Realising his mistake, Kettleborough notified the ACU who considered it a minor violation of the regulations.

Pakistan at the end of the rain-marred second day are at 223/9 with Mohammad Rizwan fighting out a gritty innings in difficult seaming conditions.
