The second match of the England vs Pakistan Test match series seems to be heading for a draw as rain continues to plays spoilsport. However, former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram utilised the off time from the match to advocated for a reciprocal tour to Pakistan form England cricket team, saying that they owe it to Pakistan cricket.

“You boys owe Pakistan cricket, and the country, a lot, with the boys coming over here. They’ve been here almost two and half months in the bio-secure environment,” Wasim was quoted as saying to Sky Sports Cricket.

England are scheduled to travel to Pakistan in 2022, which would be their first-ever visit to the nation, whose 'exile’ in terms of hosting international cricket matches, had come to an end. This was the first time that Test series was played ever since the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team that occurred during the former’s tour of Pakistan in 2008-09.

“So if everything goes well, England should tour Pakistan. They’ll get looked after on and off the field there and every game will be a packed house,” Wasim promised to the English players.

Terming the Pakistan Super League as the stepping stone of bringing international cricket and top playing nations to Pakistan, Wasim said that “The English players (Chris Jordan, Alex Hales) in our team, Karachi Kings loved being in Pakistan.”

Stating that England players could also go to malls and cinema halls, as he believes that the Covid-19 situation would be improved by next year, the 54-year-old said, “There is a lot more to see in Pakistan than cricket, which includes a lot of history as well.”
