He Can Even Score 7 Hundreds in 15 Matches: Ravi Shastri Makes Bold Claims

Former India cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri had his say on the likelihood of Virat Kohli scoring 100 hundreds for India.

As Kohli narrows the distance between him and legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who is the only one to score a century of hundreds in international cricket, the fans' anticipation are touching sky high.

The 34-year-old hit his 75th international ton recently in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. With that, he broke his 1205-day hundred drought in the longest-format of the game.

While accepting that it is a tough ask, Shastri did not rule out the possibility of Kohli getting to 100 centuries as he thinks that the latter still has at least five years of cricket left in him.

"There's only one man (Sachin Tendulkar) who has done it. To even talk about if he (Virat Kohli) will score 100 centuries is a big thing. He has got a lot of cricket to play. He is fit. And when the meter of a player of his class starts, hundreds come quickly. He can even score 7 hundreds in coming 15 matches" Shastri said in an interview with Sports Yaari.

"Virat (Kohli) still has 5-6 years of cricket left in him because he is fit. It's not easy by any stretch of imagination. That's why only one guy has done it. But the fact that you are telling me that he might reach there, that's a big thing," he added.

Meanwhile, Kohli shifts his focus from international cricket and goes into the Indian Premier League mood as he will be seen in action for the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2 against Mumbai Indians.
