Former Pakistan skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who made a triumphant return to Test cricket last month against New Zealand, will look to continue his rich form in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023. Captaining the one-time champion Quetta Gladiators, Ahmed confirmed to Cricket Pakistan that he will in all likelihood bat in the top-order this PSL 8.

The keeper-batter, who scored a match-saving hundred in the 2nd Test against New Zealand, has struggled to find his form in the previous few editions of the PSL.

The Champions Trophy-winning skipper also said that he is hopeful of the Gladiators doing well this time around.

"I will be batting at number three or four this season for Gladiators and will try to give my best for the team. We are hopeful of a better overall effort by the team. We are lucky to have many talented players in our squad this season. We have good combination of local and foreign players."

Ahmed will take part in the upcoming exhibition game between the Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at Bugti Stadium on February 5.

The PSL commences on February 13, with defending title-holder Lahore Qalandars taking on Multan Sultan.
