As Andhra Pradesh's Hanuma Vihari writes a book on resilience, he added another chapter to it on Thursday in the ongoing quarter-final of the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy.

Stout-hearted Vihari came in to bat for Andhra as the side languished at 76/9. Albeit the fractured wrist weakened Vihari's hand, it did not dampen his spirits as the batter composed a superhero-like story.

Stretching his team's lead to 244 runs, Vihari scored a 16-ball 15, a knock that included three boundaries.

Ultimately, the 29-year-old was castled by Saransh Jain, but his crucial cameo down the order could decide the game with Madhya Pradesh needing 244 runs to win.

For the unversed, Vihari was hit by a Avesh Khan delivery earlier in the match. While the scans confirmed a fracture in his wrist, he did not bow to injury, batting for his team in both the innings

This is not the first instance of Vihari's mettlesome attitude. His Sydney heroics are fondly remembered as the India batter pulled off a historic draw despite a hamstring injury.
