Perth Scorchers suffered a massive setback earlier in the BBL 12, with ace paceman Jhye Richardson being ruled out for three weeks due to a hamstring injury.

However, Richardson's absence didn't cost them much, as Lance Morris and David Payne assisted Jason Behrendorff and Andrew Tye to help the defending champions seal a berth in the playoffs.

However, dynamic Scorchers' opener Stephen Eskinazi updated on Richardson's improved fitness, hinting at his comeback in the all-important qualifier against Sydney Sixers on Saturday.

The stylish right-handed batter also revealed how he was impressed with Richardson's incredible bowling attributes earlier this season.

Here's what Eskinazi stated

"Those first couple of games when I was sitting on the sidelines watching, I was in awe of the pace, control, length and the confidence he had after coming back from a little bit of a niggle,

"He’s the sort of guy that rises to the big occasions. He’s that sort of a character, he does stand up, he’s really looking forward to it, so it’ll be fantastic to have him bring such raw, scary pace at the top of the order and he swings the ball from a good length - having him in your side is a no-brainer."
