Asif and Uthappa met against each other during the Group D match between Pakistan and India in the inaugural ICC World T20 2007, where the former claimed four wickets, while the latter slammed a 39-ball 50.

They faced off against each other in the final as well, where Uthappa scored 8, and Asif picked up a solitary wicket. Interestingly, both times India ended up winning.

Here's what Uthappa revealed

"Mohammad Asif was the toughest Pakistan bowler I faced. His skill level was very high. Asif used to swing the ball, and you cannot compare him with Shaheen Shah Afridi."

Following the spot-fixing ban and several controversies, Asif's promising career for Pakistan came to an halt in 2010, ending with 165 international wickets in just 72 appearances.

Meanwhile, Uthappa is currently playing in the International League T20 (ILT20) for Dubai Capitals.
