In a significant development, Southern Brave have appointed legendary New Zealand cricketer Stephen Fleming as their head coach for the Hundred 2023.

Fleming succeeds Sri Lanka great Mahela Jayawardene, who stepped down from the role after being recruited as the head of global performance at Mumbai Indians.

In his reaction, Fleming called it a privilege to be a part of the Brave's camp and seemed excited for his new venture.

Here's what he said

"It is a real privilege to have been offered the role of Southern Brave head coach. I look forward to working with the team to continue building on the initial success that the side has had. The competition has looked fantastic from afar and I can't wait to be a part of it next season."

Fleming represented New Zealand in 396 international matches, slamming 15,319 runs across formats. After retiring from international cricket, the stylish southpaw coached Chennai Super Kings to perfection, leading them to four IPL titles.

Renowned as one of the finest cricketing brains in the modern era, Fleming is expected to help the Brave reach new heights in the Hundred 2023.
