Raymon Reifer ruled out of West Indies squad as Australia Test series kicks off

Australia and West Indies are all set to clash against one another in a two-match Test series. Unfortunately, all-rounder Raymond Reifer has been ruled out of the squad due to a groin injury on Day 1 of the first Test match at Perth. 

Marnus Labuschagne cause maximum damage to the Windies on day 1 as he hit a phenomenal unbeaten 154* alongside veteran Steve Smith who also hit an unbeaten 59*. The two were unstoppable as the innings proceeded. It was an all-round dominating display from the Australian batters.


Reifer ruled out

West Indies all-rounder Raymon has been ruled out of the squad after injuring his groin muscle. The all-rounder will be sent home from Australia to start off with injury rehabilitation. Reifer picked up the injury way before the start of the match. 

The injury resulted in the Windies captain handing a debut to batter Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Son of the legendary retired West Indies player Shivnarine Chanderpaul. 


Australia ended the innings with 293 runs on the board in 90 overs. The stars of the day being Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith. David Warner once again failed to deliver as he returned to the pavilion with 5 runs in his account.
