England head coach, Brendon McCullum spoke to the media ahead of England's first Test against Pakistan, starting on December 1.

McCullum talked about a lot of issues, but he specifically gave an insight about England's preparations and whether the visitors are ready for the upcoming Pakistan challenge.

Even before the start of the Test series, England have been jolted with the injury to Mark Wood. The speedster has been ruled out of the opening Test and this could certainly change the game-plan for Brendon McCullum and his side.

Hopefully we are ready: McCullum

"Not yet, but we've got a couple of days," McCullum said when asked if England are ready for the 1st Test.

He continued: It's great to be here. We had a great camp in Abu Dhabi and spent some time together as a team to build that camaraderie back as a team after a bit of break."

McCullum also talked about Mark Wood's unfortunate injury and reckons that the pacer might be fit for the second Test.

"Mark Wood is not going to make the first Test squad unfortunately because of the injury but we expect him to be ready for the second Test, otherwise we have a full squad to choose from," He added.
