After taking his side to another T20 World Cup title, Ben Stokes was over the moon with his historic 52 not out, overcoming ghosts of the past. His redemption story has only gotten better with two white ball titles under his belt.

Surprisingly, Stokes announced his retirement from ODI cricket after looking at his future, realising that he doesn't see himself playing all three formats together. Sustainability could be a major factor that he thought could impact his performance in the other two formats.

Now, former English cricketer Jonathan Agnew via his BBC blog wrote that Stokes needs to reconsider his decision to retire from the format. His point of view is that he could England to another title considering it is in India and would be massive.

"I now hope he reverses his decision to retire from one-day internationals, allowing him to join England's bid to defend their 50-over World Cup title next year. I know, as Test captain, he has a lot on with a home Ashes series to come next year - that is why he chose to step aside from the ODI format earlier in the summer,

"He obviously has fitness issues too, largely with his left knee. But winning a World Cup in India would be a massive achievement."

Stokes was decent in this World Cup with 110 runs to go with 6 wickets, complementing his half-century in the finals.
