On Friday, Adelaide Strikers secured a six-wicket victory over Perth Scorchers in the 20th match of the Women's Big Bash League 2022 in Brisbane.

Scorchers post a below-par total

Batting first, Scorchers again lost the wickets of Sophie Devine (8) and Chloe Piparo (1) early. Then, however, Beth Mooney (34) and Maddy Green(15) resurrected the team's innings.

Afterwards, Amy Edgar (27*) and Mathilda Carmichael (17*) were proficient with their performances to help the team post a respectable total of 111 on the board.

Darcie Brown and Amanda Wellington were impressive to return with two wickets each for the Strikers.

Strikers seal the chase easily

In reply, Deandra Dottin (18) looked comfortable at the crease before being castled by Devine.

The skilful Lilly Mills secured three quick breakthroughs to send Laura Wolvaardt, Tahlia McGrath and Bridget Patterson back to the hut.

Nevertheless, the reliable contributor Madeline Penna (32*) stitched an unbeaten 52- run stand with Mack (47*) to take the team home with nine balls to spare.

With this win, the Strikers now sit at the pole position in the table with four wins in six league matches.
