After an extremely thrilling and down to the wire match against arch rivals India that ended in a loss, former Pakistan captain Salim Malik has slammed Babar Azam's captaincy decisions. Opining that the 28-year-old should leave captaincy.

What Salim Malik said

"In pressure situations liked these, senior players have to play the biggest role. If the captain feels that he's not making the right decision he should consult the seniors. Fast bowlers should always have a senior mentor with them at all times to guide them through the game."

"Even if after all these years you can't captain then you should leave the role. If you [Babar Azam] keep making the same mistakes then you should step down from the role, there have been many who have stepped down."

Babar hit with criticism

Babar has recently been hit with a storm of criticism regarding the decisions that he has made as the captain. Mohammad Hafeez being one of the critics, stated that there are major flaws in Babar's captaincy.

In the last match against India, Pakistan almost had the game until the final few overs where Virat Kohli in tandem with Hardik Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin completely turned the game around. Virat and co were also supported with multiple extras in the forms of no balls, extras and wides at the very end of the match, where Pakistan could have saved the game.
