After what was a massive setback for the Men in Blue, the Indian management has announced its replacement for injured star pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Mohammed Shami gets his time in the spotlight

BCCI has made it official that veteran pacer Mohammed Shami will replace pace attack leader Bumrah in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

The following changes were made after Bumrah suffered a back stress fracture during India's series against South Africa.

Jasprit Bumrah and his prolonged injury

The death over specialist had reportedly been complaining of back pain building up to India's series against South Africa. Bumrah had performed modestly against Australia at home soil, the pacer was just making his comeback after a long injury layover.

After missing the first T20I against South Africa, things looked pretty grim for Bumrah. Shortly he was diagnosed with a back stress fracture. It will take him around four to six months to return to full fitness.

Death bowling in danger as Bumrah ruled out

Bumrah's absence in Mohali painfully highlighted how important the pacer is for the Indian bowling attack. With a shaken bowling combination and an affected Indian campaign it will be interesting to see what bowling combinations skipper Rohit Sharma comes up with. Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel are India's other few options.
