Sammy King signs a year-long contract with Nottinghampshire

19-year old Sammy King has signed a year-long contract with Nottinghampshire, the batter has made a sole appearance for the County at the Royal London Cup in 2021, scoring a total of 11 runs. 

In 2022 he scored 629 runs at 34.94 including two centuries and one half-century. He also took four wickets in 12 Championship features. In the Second XI T20 Competition he scored 38 runs. 


King delighted with the contract 


"At times it was actually a bit surreal learning from those who I have spent such a long time watching. I am grateful for the support I receive here. And I feel like I'm growing as a person and a player, becoming more comfortable with my own game and at the level I am playing.

"To be staying for a further year is pleasing because I feel like there is so much that I can achieve in the game, and during the next 12 months I can really look to demonstrate that."

"Sammy is certainly a talent with bat and ball, and someone who has moved his game forward a lot since being around the first-team squad."
