Although Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been incredibly consistent with the bat, their strike rates have been questioned from time to time by fans and experts.

As they score at a similar pace, calls for separating them with demoting one to the middle order have intensified.

However, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has voiced in favour of the pair batting together at the top.

Here's what Raja said

"Pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan is our best-ever pair, I am surprised that people want to separate them. In the past, more than ten pairs were tried and people used to say that the Pakistan team did not have a good pair, now that we have a great pair of openers, people discuss what binds our fantastic openers together."

On being quizzed whether the game against India would put extra pressure on the Pakistani players, Raja answered that each game in the World Cup would involve pressure.

Also, considering how Pakistan performed in the last World Cup, the former opener backed the Men in Green to repeat the same level of success this year.

"Pressure is in every game. Pakistan team was not given much importance in the last World Cup, but we won five matches. We have to give credit to this team, this team does not disappoint. Their achievements are very high. When the winning graph is seventy-five percent, it means you are making less mistakes."

Pakistan will play their first World Cup encounter against arch-rivals India in Melbourne on October 23.
