Mitchell Marsh is one of the many who have backed David Warner and are pushing Cricket Australia (CA) to lift Warner's captaincy ban as the board is all set to discuss the topic on Friday. Marsh has been the Western Australian captain since 2017.

David Warner was punished with a captaincy ban after the infamous 'sandgate' incident. Recently, Warner has vouched for himself and expressed that he sincerely wants the captain his national side.

What Marsh said

“He  [Warner] creates a lot of energy around our team and brings everyone together, he’s a great leader among our group,”

Rewriting the Code of Conduct

In order to lift the captaincy ban on David Warner, CA will have to rewrite the code of conduct before the T20 World Cup later this month. Australia are in desperate need of a captain after ODI captain Aaron Finch announced his retirement from the format. On the other hand, the Aussies will also need a new T20 captain following the World Cup.
