T20 World Cup 2022: Can India rise from their ruins?

Every major tournament that India feature in, they are considered to be one of the favourites. But, this time I don't think they can be talked about as the team to beat. They are vulnerable, doubtful, bruised with multiple injuries but they are not broken yet.

A team that has the deadliest duo of Hitman & the King can never be ruled out. But, injuries to star all-rounder Jadeja & lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah will certainly have a huge impact. Deepak Chahar who was a part of the reserves has also suffered a blow.

Mohammed Shami who is all set to replace Bumrah in the World Cup squad has just recovered from Covid-19 which again is a worry, because it will take time for him to get back in rhythm. By the way, all these are bruises that we carry but we are not broken.

The King has reclaimed his throne, SKY is ruling the world & Pandya by far is the best all-rounder in the shortest format of the game. Above all we have a proven leader in the Hitman, who has won 5 IPL trophies as a leader.

Does the Indian bowling give confidence ahead of mega event?

What about the bowling? Bhuvneshwar Kumar might have struggled in the recent past but his quality can't be questioned. Apart from him, we have Chahal who has done it in the toughest battlefield of them all, the Chinnaswamy.

Ashwin & Chahal can be a combination that India should go ahead with because they have done it for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Apart from them, the bowling unit is relatively young but they have encountered the best in the business before. They have stepped up in difficult times which is why they are here.

A team in not all about its stars, it needs a balance of youth & experience. These injuries might just act as a blessing because might see young guns bringing in a different energy. A positive vibrant fearless energy that the team of 2007 had.

India has 6-7 players who walk into any XI in the world, which is good enough to suggest that a team around them can conquer the world. India can rise from their ruins, the unthinkable can unfold before our eyes. But, who will be the Greek God?
