England skipper Moeen Ali was elated to prevail by 67 runs over Pakistan and seal a 4-3 series win on Sunday (October 2) at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Being put to bat first, England openers Philip Salt and Alex Hales added 39 runs for the first wicket, before getting dismissed in the fifth over. Then, the talented southpaws Dawid Malan and Ben Duckett took the game forward with their clinical strokeplay.

Afterwards, Duckett made his way back to the hut for 30 off 19. The in-form Harry Brook arrived at the crease and continued the momentum. In the end, Malan remained unbeaten on 78 off 47, while Brook hit 46* off 29 to power England to a mammoth total of 209 on the board.

Chasing a daunting score, Pakistan's confidence was already shaken by the dismissals of Babar Azam (4) and Mohammad Rizwan (1). Although Shan Masood played a valiant knock of 56 off 43 balls, Pakistan managed to score 142 in their designated quota of 20 overs.

Following the game, Ali credited all-around effort from their players to seal the series and get much-needed confidence ahead of T20 World Cup 2022. The 35-year-old felt delighted to be coming from the back and winning successive matches to take the series honours.

In addition, Ali thanked the PCB for organizing the tournament well.

"Brilliant game from us, we played well from the start. I thought our bowling was outstanding, throughout the series we bowled really well. When the team is batting like that, it gives a lot of confidence," said Moeen.

"It was amazing to see how we won the last two games. Also shows the depth we have in our squad. "
