T20 World Cup 2022: He has shown temperament and composure: Vikram Rathour on Arshdeep Singh

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, India's death-overs bowling looked pedestrian in their recent outings. Dew or no dew, the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel are expected to excel in their roles, however, it was Arshdeep Singh who grabbed the limelight in the Asia Cup with his tight and disciplined lengths.

Singh, who returns to the Indian setup after being given rest for the Australian T20 series, will likely be in action alongside Bumrah in the first T20I today at Thiruvananthapuram.

Team India batting coach Vikram Rathour, too, praised Singh for his showings so far in the national jersey, which has been impressive for many.

Rathour on Arshdeep

"As team management, we just have discussions to back their strengths and whatever the team plans are.

No specific areas but for a young kid who has just come into international cricket, so far he has shown the temperament and composure to handle pressure and bowl well in difficult conditions. So as far we are concerned, we are pretty happy with the way he is progressing."

In his short 11-T20I career for India, Singh has taken 14 wickets at an average of 20.14, while maintaining an economy under 8.
