England seamer Kate Cross opened up on Deepti Sharma running out Charlie Dean to bowl England out and win the third ODI by 16 runs.

After a disastrous start with the bat in the second innings, England recovered well and needed just 17 runs to win when Sharma ran out Dean at the non-striker end to bring a conclusion to England's run chase

Cross refused to condemn the last run-out

Cross, who bowled a magnificent spell in the first innings, skittling the Indian top order, refused to accept that Sharma running out Dean for the last wicket was the reason behind England’s defeat. She rather insisted that the team is more focused on their own mistakes they made earlier in the chase.

"Losing any game of cricket is disappointing, Ultimately, it's Deepti's choice how she goes about that, and we've lost that game of cricket. What we did say in the dressing room was that we didn't lose that game of cricket because of that last wicket,"

While chasing 170, England lost wickets in a flurry, but it was only captain Amy Jones alongside Charlie Dean who managed to stitch a partnership and bring England back in the chase.

I would not have done that: Cross

Cross further added that she would not have done that run out but also refused to envy the Indian off-spinner for what she did.

"I'm more disappointed for Charlie Dean that she couldn't get a fifty at Lord's today because she looked set to do that. Deepti chose to dismiss Charlie Dean that way. That is a never ending debate. Some people are going to like it, some people aren't," Cross concluded.
